He has completed MS Ophthalmology from JSS Medical College Mysore. Then he worked in St. Johns Hospital Kerala from 2014 to 2018.
He has performed around 3000 SICS and 1000 PHACO surgery till now.

Is Cornea phaco-Refractive working in M M Joshi since July 2019? She has completed M. S. Ophthalmology from GMC Surat in June 2017 and fellowship in cornea phacorefractive surgery in 2019 from M.M.Joshi Dharwad.
She is proficient in both manual and phacoemulsification technique of cataract surgery. She is also specialized in dispensing contact lens and low vision aid. She is part of the cornea department in `M M Joshi Dharwad.

Dr Deepti Joshi

Ophthalmology & Squint Specialist

Dr Deepti Joshi received her basic medical training from Bangalore Medical College and specialised in Ophthalmology from St. Johns Medical College, Bangalore. She has been a gold medalist in MS Ophthalmology for prestigious Rajiv Gandhi University Of Health Sciences. She completed her fellowship in Pediatric Ophthalmology from M M Joshi eye institute followed by an elective fellowship at Sick Kids Hospital, Toronto.
She has presented papers in various national and international conferences. She received the best paper award for her research on pediatric rubella cataract in All India Ophthalmology Conference 2018.
Her core clinical interests include adult and pediatric strabismus (squint), childhood cataract, childhood glaucoma, refractive errors, vision development in kids with other systemic disorders, lazy eye and neuro-ophthalmology disorders.
She heads the CVI (cortical visual impairment) clinic which aims to enhance vision in kids with neurological problems such as cerebral palsy. We are proud to be the only hospital to conduct such clinic in whole North Karnataka.
She is also actively involved in teaching and conducting various teaching programs for postgraduate students across the nation.

Dr Shrinivas Joshi

Ophthalmology Specialist

DR. SHRINIVAS JOSHI completed his M. S. Ophthalmology from K.L.E Medical College, Belgaum. Later he received elective training in Vitreoretinal from Steve Charles Retina Institute, Memphis, USA. He completed his Surgical Fellowship in Vitreoretinal from University of Toronto, North America and was trained in pediatric retinal surgeries at Sick Kids hospital, Toronto.
His areas of interest are artificial retina “Argus 2” the first US FDA approved Bionic Eye. He is one of the first Indian to be trained for artificial retinal implantation surgery under Dr Robert Devenyi at Toronto Western Hospital.
He is the recipient of Senior Honor Award by American Society of retina specialists, Boston 2017. He has been awarded prestigious Rhett Buckler Oscar award by American Society retina specialists at Boston, Vancouver and Chicago for three consecutive years, which is a record in itself.He has been honoured with International Hero award by All India Ophthalmic Society in 2018 and 2019. He is a Peer reviewer for National and International journals including American Journal of Ophthalmology, Asia Pacific Journal of Ophthalmology and Indian Journal of Ophthalmology.
His areas of clinical interests include treating adult anti pediatric retinal pathologies like diabetic retinopathy, macular holes, retinal detachments, RetInopathy of prematurity.

Dr.Manohar Puttanna

Dr.Manohar completed his MBBS graduation from Bangalore Medical College and Research Institute. He specialised in M.S Ophthalmology from Minto Regional Institute of Ophthalmology , Bangalore.

He has over 11 years of experience as an Ophthalmologist and phaco surgeon. He has spearheaded many community outreach programs, creating awareness about eye health and prevention of diseases.

His areas of special interests are anterior segment, orbit and oculoplasty surgeries.

Dr Guruprasad S.Ayachit

Vitreoretinal Services

Is the Director of clinical services and Head of Vitreoretinal services. He is the senior-most member of the Institute working since 1985. He has had a brilliant academic record during MBBS and MS and has had specialized training in the field of Vitreoretinal at Sankara Nethralay Chennai.
He started the Vitreoretina department in 1986, the first in north Karnataka. The department serves the vitreoretinal patients of the entire northern districts of the state besides Goa and neighbouring Maharashtra.
Dr.Guruprasad has performed over 25,000 Vitreoretinal surgeries besides several thousand cataract and other common anterior eye surgeries. His special areas of interest include Complex Retinal detachment, Diabetic retinopathy, Retinopathy of prematurity, Eye injuries besides other common diseases.
Dr.Guruprasad has several research achievements to his credit which he has published and presented at various national and international conferences. His work has been recognized at national and international forums and duly awarded.
He is the program director for the DNB post-graduate course under the National board of examinations and the vitreoretinal fellowship course affiliated to the Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences.
Besides charitable services within the hospital, Dr.Guruprasad has reached out to the poor in the form of eye camps and has ensured quality service to everyone.
He has held several important posts as an office bearer in both the Karnataka Ophthalmic society and the All India ophthalmic society.

Is a Consultant in the Department of Cornea, Phaco & Refractive Surgery, an adept ophthalmologist with solid 8 years of experience.
He is an MBBS graduate from the prestigious Bangalore Medical College and completed his Masters in Ophthalmology from Safdarjung Hospital New Delhi, one of the largest tertiary level multi-disciplinary healthcare institutions.

She has done her M.B.B.S from the prestigious Seth. G.S. Medical college and K.E.M Hospital, Mumbai. Thereafter she pursued her M.S ophthalmology from Shri M.P.Shah Medical college and Guru Gobind Singh hospital standing first in the Saurashtra University and securing a gold medal. She has done her glaucoma fellowship from H.V.Desai eye hospital, Pune.
She has worked as an assistant professor in Rajiv Gandhi medical college, Thane. She has been associated as a consultant with multiple private setups in Mumbai and Pune.

Dr R. Krishnaprasad is the head of Pediatric Ophthalmology and Glaucoma services in M.
M. Joshi Eye Institute, a premier super-speciality Institute of Southern India. He has been at the forefront of Ophthalmic Education and has been spearheading the efforts of Post-Graduation Education and skill enhancement. Being the Best outgoing University student with 8 Gold Medals in Medical Graduation, he has completed his M. D. (Ophthalmology) from prestigious All India Institute of Medical Sciences, New Delhi with honours. He is the Director of Post Graduate Training and Fellowship programmes at M. M. Joshi Eye Institute, a niche area very close to his heart. He is the Deputy Director of Community Services and has been working tirelessly on pediatric community ophthalmology projects.
Dr Krishnaprasad has undergone a fellowship training in pediatric ophthalmology at Storm Eye Institute, Medical University of South Carolina USA. He has three International publications and Eight National publications in peer renewed journals.

Dr Apoorva Ayachit is a consultant in the department of Vitreoretina services at M. M. Joshi Eye Institute. She got her ophthalmology training from Maulana Azad Medical College, New Delhi. After MS ophthalmology, she completed her fellowship in vitreoretinal at M. M. Joshi eye institute and was mentored by Dr Guruprasad A S and Dr Shrinivas Joshi.
She has obtained additional degrees like diplomate of national board (DNB); fellowship of the international council of Ophthalmology (FICO), ICO- London 2016; Fellow of All India Collegium of ophthalmologists in Vitreoretina (FAICO- VR) apart from MS ophthalmology and fellowship in vitreoretinal surgery (FVRS).
Apart from being a passionate clinician, she is a keen researcher and has over 25 publications and 8 book chapters to her credit. Her publications have been featured in prestigious international journals.
She has won several national and international awards for her research. She is also on the team of editors for the Indian journal of ophthalmology and serves as academic in- charge for the national young ophthalmologists’ forum.

Dr Abhishek Bawdekar.Completed his MS from Regional Institute of Ophthalmology Guwahati. Following this, he joined the prestigious LV Prasad Eye Institute for his specialisation in Cornea, Uveitis and Ocular Immunology Fellowship. After working as a Faculty in The GMR Varahalaxmi Campus Vishakhapatnam of LVPEI he moved down to the MM Joshi Eye Institute, the Premier Eye Institute in Hubbali.
He has numerous published articles and presentations to his credit. His areas of interest include eye infections and inflammation, ocular surface disorders, allergic eye disease, refractive surgery and keratoconus.

Dr Suresh Babu N

Dr Suresh Babu N is currently working at MMJEI, Hubli. He is trained as a VR surgeon is an amalgamation of work experience across various places in India such as Bangalore & Shimoga(Karnataka), Anand (Gujarat) and Kanpur(UP). He is known for his hard-working, disciplined, committed and efficient at his work. I take a keen interest in ocular oncology, ROP and staying updated about the trends in surgical and medical aspects of ophthalmology.

Dr. Giriraj Vibhute

Dr Giriraj Vibhute completed his MBBS from VIMS Bellary, one of the oldest and reputed govt medical colleges in Karnataka. He did his post graduation in Ophthalmology from the prestigious Shroff eye centre New Delhi and joined MM Joshi eye institute in 2018. He completed his fellowship in vitreoretina and continued working at his beloved institute.
