CHARITABLE COMMUNITY OPHTHALMOLOGY WORK

Shri Guru Mahipatiraj Eye Bank & Research Foundation Trust (SGM Trust) to render free service to the poor people of rural areas in the eradication of blindness. So far he has conducted nearly 1211 free eye camps in rural areas with the co-operation of service Organisations like Rotary, Lions & local bodies. In these camps about 13,00,000 people have received examination of the eyes & treatment and around one lakh persons have been operated upon for visual rehabilitation with best scientific procedures including microsurgical intraocular lens implantation. In this 53 years of Ophthalmic practice nearly 2.5 lakh persons have undergone sight restoring Eye surgeries in camps.

M. M. Joshi Eye Institute Hubballi have 7 vision centres in Ron, Kukanoor, Naragund, Mundargi, Mundgod, Hangal and Navalgund to avoid needless blindness in rural areas.
